Planting Trees with Ecologi

Planting Trees with Ecologi

2-Minute Read

One of our core principles is Sustainability, so we are very excited to announce that we have partnered with Ecologi, and from now each order you place with Pale Fox will plant a tree. Read below how this amazing organisation is helping tackle climate change.

What do they do?

Ecologi is dedicated to slow climate change and is empowering individuals and businesses, such as ourselves, to help. Their mission is to remove 50% of global CO2 emissions by 2040 and responsibly plant billions of trees every year through collective action. In conjunction with 'The Eden Reforestation Projects', their current efforts are focused on Madagascar, Mozambique and Nicaragua (shown in the photo below). Our partnership with Ecologi means that each time you place an order, a tree will be added to our virtual 'Pale Fox Forest', which translates to a physical tree.

Planting trees not only offset carbon emissions and helps to keep our temperatures from rising above 1.5C but also prevents ecological collapse. Based on scientific research of mangrove forests, Ecologi has worked out that a hectare of mangroves, most commonly planted by the projects, can sequester 3082 tonnes of CO2 over a 25-year lifetime. An additional benefit is that reforestation, in turn, provides employment and income for local people. Furthermore, all Ecologi’s projects are verified by independent certifications, such as 'The Gold Standard', which guarantee that the organisation is working to an exceptional standard for the local communities and climate security.

Why is this important?

The climate crisis is one of the most frightening issues facing the world today. Commitment to making a meaningful contribution to halting the damage and ensuring that we work towards offsetting our carbon emissions is important to us. Ethical consumerism is the least that companies such as ourselves can promote these days. Being an ethical consumer means buying products that were ethically produced and/or are not harmful to the environment and society.

Our new partnership with Ecologi is supplementing our other ongoing sustainable practices. These include only using 100% renewable energy sources in the production of Pale Fox, from both solar and hydroelectric energy, and ensuring we use CO2 neutral couriers.
